The Tony Marlow Anthology - 40 years of Rock N Roll.

Introducing The Tony Marlow Anthology - 40 Years on the Rock N Roll circuit.

Every now and then one comes across an absolute gem of an album, and in this case a double album that charts the career of one of the nicest people that I have had the pleasure to meet. Tony has been either beatin' the drums or strumming the lead on songs dating back to pre 1978. It career spanning 40+ years has seen him take a leading role in bands such as "The Rockin' Rebels", "Betty & The Bops", "Les Bandits Mancho", "The Tony Marlow Trio", "The Tony Marlow Guitar Party", and of late "K'Ptain Kidd". He's played at venues right across Europe and the United Kingdom. In-fact there isn't much he hasn't done.

The Anthology was professionally put together to celebrate the 40 year milestone in his career, and I'll say one thing, it's not for the faint of heart either. Not many bands have competed 40 years of smooth performances, and Tony will admit himself that it hasn't always been an easy ride. From the very start of his career, the guitar wasn't his chosen weapon, no, as I mentioned a little earlier, he was a fellow drummer. Some guitarists will say he came from the dark side. Me, well no.. It's a pleasure to know someone who's as multi talented and as professional as Tony. When you listen to his music, it's faultless and you'll hear the professionalism in it's entirety.

So what's inside the albums? This sensational double CD package is loaded 50 songs, all of Tony's finest work.

Right from the very start this action packed double whammy had my feet tapping throughout. The genres covered are just the right blend of raw rockabilly that's of the right calibre that would have been perfectly suited to have fallen straight out of Sam Phillips studio on Union Avenue. It's direct, hard hitting and grabs you by the throat and says: "Oi, listen to this"; in a nice way of course... Hand on heart, I have to say that my CD collection wouldn't have been complete had I not had this. It's a right little fire cracker of a double album and I urge the readers to get a copy of this sensational 2 x disc album NOW!

So what's he up to now? Tony still has The Tony Marlow Trio and The Guitar Party, but since 2019 he's taken on the role of supporting Alicia's project, the tremendously successful "Alicia F!" and not to forget his very own Rock / Blues combo; "Marlow Rider". Keep you eyes peeled for these once live concerts start up again, you won't be disappointed.
